The Kunes Family Foundation Pledges $450,000 to Support the Aram Public Library's Expansion in Delavan, WI

Published on Jul 21, 2022 by Talia Mushinsky

The Aram Public Library has a rich history in the Delavan community that reaches back to its humble origins in 1897. For the past 114, the library has been a much-loved gem in the heart of downtown Delavan, WI. The building has presented significant challenges; over time, limited access to technology, cramped spaces, crumbling walls and ceilings, have resulted in summer youth and adult programs hosted in a rented tent on a gravel parking lot due to lack of available space.

In August of 2021, the City of Delavan Common Council passed a resolution to renovate the existing facility into a modern library,  expanding on the original site’s central location. The library’s expansion was approved as a publicly and privately funded project with the design phase to be completed in 2023 and construction in 2024.

The Kunes Family Foundation is dedicated to improving the communities that we serve. The Aram Library’s expansion will serve as an equitable resource for people of all ages in the community. The project has several features included in the renovation of the existing space: building designated spaces for teens/young adults, multiple rooms for events, plus additional adult program areas, ultimately providing an extra 23,162 square feet of net space.

Gregg Kunes strongly believes that when we invest in and take care of the communities we serve, then they will take care of us, too. Over the next three years, the $450,000 Kunes’ pledge will help to fulfill the library’s goal to grow the future of its members in the Delavan community.
